Phil and Ellie - A relaxed London Barbican engagement shoot

This coming weekend I’m returning to the Dock Kitchen for a fantastic London wedding party for Ellie & Phil. A short while ago in late May, we headed to the Barbican for a fabulous brutalist pre-wedding shoot (and hey, who doesn’t love brutalist wedding photography?).

As part of my wedding package, I include a weekday engagement/ pre-wedding shoot as I find it helps everyone to get to know each other a little better, and helps the couple get more used to the camera. 

For Ellie and Phil, they were eloping to Japan just a couple of days after our meeting, so this was a very literal pre-wedding shoot! We had just missed the London cherry blossom, but agreed on the Barbican due to its beautiful lines and symmetry (and that it was handily hosting the excellent Japanese House exhibition at the time). Wearing beatnik black, Ellie & Phil looked like the coolest Scandinavian electro duo this side of a 9.3 review on Pitchfork. 

So, after Barbican, Japan, Devon and Hampstead, roll on this coming Saturday for the wedding’s grand finale!
