Kingsdown Rectory Wedding Photography

Last year I was asked by the awesome Lara (of Lara James Makeup) to join a styled shoot organised by herself and Sam from Flutterbee Me Events. An absolute beauty of a new venue not far from my own Kentish Whitstable home, I was super keen to be involved and be among the first Kingsdown Rectory Wedding Photographers! We were very lucky to be featured in the December/ January 2020 edition of Your Kent Wedding Magazine.

The venue itself is a beautiful, intimate family run building, lived in by the owners themselves. Tucked away in the countryside, not too far from Sittingbourne, it’s surrounded by huge lawns perfect for sunny weddings with nooks and coves surrounded by huge trees creating beautiful shaded areas.

We aimed for a burgundy and dusky rose colour palette, showing different ways the venue could be laid out. Shooting alongside myself was the brilliant local videographer Russell Nichols (his video can be seen at the end of my images) who included some epic wide angle drone footage to show off this beautiful venue. The gardens are especially incredible, perfect for capturing couples and their guests in hazy sun or letting the sunlight splinter through the trees creating auras around the guests.

I loved doing this shoot with this brilliantly talented team. I tried to represent it as close to a real wedding as possible, as if I was your Kingsdown Rectory Wedding Photographer, from the preparations onwards (albeit without guests!). Models Molly and Connor were great to work with, with an unhurried elegance emphasised by the amazing work of Lara and Kimberly.
